PEI Escape Rooms launched in September 2014, the first escape-the-room games to open in PEI. We are also the world’s only non-profit escape rooms, with all profits going to the Voluntary Resource Centre, a non-profit charity in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
PEI Escape Rooms is unique; we are the first and only Escape Room game run as a fundraising initiative by a non-profit organization.
All funds raised by the PEI Escape Rooms go to provide core funding for the ongoing work of the Voluntary Resource Centre (VRC) in Charlottetown PEI. The VRC is a hub of community activity in downtown Charlottetown, offering services and space to the voluntary sector. Over the organization’s forty-year history, many small community groups and organizations have called the VRC home during their formative years.
In order to maintain a quality of player experience, the Game Facilitators are now paid staff who come in specifically for your booking. Consistent with our values of social justice, we pay fair wages to our staff, and offer this paid work to underemployed individuals who have shown a spirit of volunteerism and community engagement. Our rooms are designed and created using re-purposed and donated items as much as possible.
